Guess who won Sectionals on this week’s Glee?

You can guess, but I’m making you wait until the end of the post to find out. See? It’s called suspense.

Now, in the continuing saga of Glee relationship drama

Emma Pillsbury just got married to John Stamos’ Carl. That’s right: married. In Vegas. Needless to say, Will was a little upset.

Then Rachel found out that Finn slept with Santana last year, so Finn and Rachel broke up. That is kind of sad. I liked Finnchel.

However, recently re-mohawked badboy Puck has started being really nice to Rachel, and I kind of like Puckleberry, as well. So we’ll see.

Tonight’s Memorable Songs

Rachel and Kurt (who, let’s face it, are essentially just guy and girl versions of the same person) switched off singing Madonna’s “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina” together. And they both nailed it. Holy crap these kids both sing well. Read the rest of this entry »

Chuck vs. James Bond! Well, sorta.

Last night’s episode of Chuck was all about Timothy Dalton. (The actor, famous for playing James Bond back in the 80s, appears as an evil Russian baddie named Alexie Volcoff, who is determined to kill our poor Chuck.)

Volcoff crashes Chuck and his sister Ellie’s Thanksgiving dinner and he almost kills … well everybody. But Chuck’s mom saves the day in the end. And all’s well that ends well. Read the rest of this entry »

Zoinks! Psych is so freaking awesome

As if a Westley from the Princess Bride guest appearance a few weeks back wasn’t enough, I just finished watching a Scooby Doo-themed episode of Psych.

Okay, so there was no cowardly, sandwich-eating, giant talking great dane in the mix, but the episode did have – to quote Shaun  – “a bona fide Scooby Doo case.”

“…Dead guy, haunted house, amusement park.” And he was killed by a ghost!

What else do you need? Gus even said “jenkies.” And Shawn said “zoinks.” I officially adore this episode.

Glee: Furt, schmert. Where the heck is my KAINE?

Dearest Glee,

You know you are my favorite show on television, and that I wholly adore you … but that does not necessarily mean that you can do no wrong. And right now, I am very upset with you.

Glee, you are NOT ALLOWED to give us a new character that is as wonderful, kind, caring (and deliciously foxy) as Darren Criss’ gleektastic private school student Blaine … and then mercilessly rip him away from us for an entire two weeks.

Seriously. This is cruel and unusual and should NOT BE ALLOWED. Ever. Read the rest of this entry »

Best *goram* episode of Chuck in a while

I am a tad bit behind on watching NBC’s Chuck, so I’m actually just now getting to last Monday’s episode. It’s about three minutes in, and the greatest, most amazing, most geektastic thing ever just happened:

Summer Glau just walked up, and she’s wearing a Buy More uniform.

My inner Firefly nerd is totally geeking out right now. You have no idea. This is so epic.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Reflections on a midnight showing

Given that I named my blog Beth Talks TV, I usually try to refrain from talking about movies (since movies are, obviously, not television) – but I went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 last night, so I’m going to make an exception.

My roommates and I weren’t cool enough to get all dressed up in costumes, but we did hang out in line starting at 10:50 p.m., standing outside in the cold and rain with the rest of the crazies. It was awesome.

Tater tots, Gwyneth Paltrow, (& about three minutes of Darren Criss) on Glee

Glee was okay this week, but it wasn’t amazing.

Then again, last week’s “Teenage Dream-y awesomeness was pretty tough to beat, so I’m willing to cut them a little slack this time around.

Basic plot overview

This week Mr. Schue got sick, which means that the glee club (and his Spanish class. He’s a Spanish teacher, remember?) needed a substitute teacher.

Enter movie and romantic comedy star Gwyneth Paltrow. She sang Cee-Lo’s “Forget You” … and it was really good. Read the rest of this entry »
