Chuck vs. James Bond! Well, sorta.

Last night’s episode of Chuck was all about Timothy Dalton. (The actor, famous for playing James Bond back in the 80s, appears as an evil Russian baddie named Alexie Volcoff, who is determined to kill our poor Chuck.)

Volcoff crashes Chuck and his sister Ellie’s Thanksgiving dinner and he almost kills … well everybody. But Chuck’s mom saves the day in the end. And all’s well that ends well. Read the rest of this entry »

Zoinks! Psych is so freaking awesome

As if a Westley from the Princess Bride guest appearance a few weeks back wasn’t enough, I just finished watching a Scooby Doo-themed episode of Psych.

Okay, so there was no cowardly, sandwich-eating, giant talking great dane in the mix, but the episode did have – to quote Shaun  – “a bona fide Scooby Doo case.”

“…Dead guy, haunted house, amusement park.” And he was killed by a ghost!

What else do you need? Gus even said “jenkies.” And Shawn said “zoinks.” I officially adore this episode.

Best *goram* episode of Chuck in a while

I am a tad bit behind on watching NBC’s Chuck, so I’m actually just now getting to last Monday’s episode. It’s about three minutes in, and the greatest, most amazing, most geektastic thing ever just happened:

Summer Glau just walked up, and she’s wearing a Buy More uniform.

My inner Firefly nerd is totally geeking out right now. You have no idea. This is so epic.

Psych is back: Shawn, Juliet & … Westley from The Princess Bride!

I’d like to take a moment from my very frequent and somewhat obsessive Glee coverage to report some extremely important TV news:

Psych on USA network is the single greatest comedy show on TV ever.

Consider yourself informed.

It’s been a very depressing multi-month hiatus, but my favorite show about that one guy who pretends to be a psychic even though he really isn’t is finally back on TV. Let the comedic genius commense. Read the rest of this entry »

Mustafa’s Chuck appearance disappoints

(Skip to 1:36-1:43 for clips of Mustafa from the episode.)

Isaiah Mustafa is totally awesome. And Chuck Bartowski is beyond awesome. So it stands to reason that putting the two of them together would result in so much awesomeness it would simply be too much to contain.

You’d think so. Right?

Isaiah Mustafa (The Old Spice Guy)’s guest appearance on Chuck was cool I guess, but it was definitely not epic. Read the rest of this entry »

Nerd Herders rejoice. Chuck is back!

Chuck is back. Man, I forgot how much I love this show.

Wait, no I didn’t. I’ve only been waiting for this moment all summer … and it has finally arrived. My favorite total dork-turned-superspy is finally back on TV.

Hello, Zachary Levi. I missed you. So much.

Chuck and Sarah are all cute and coupley this season. Chuck and Morgan are going on rogue spy missions in an attempt to track down Chuck’s long-missing spy mama (played by Terminator alum Linda Hamilton).

And the Buy More (which burned down last season) is now fully rebuilt and turned into a full-fledged CIA/NSA sub station.

Did I mention how much I adore this TV show? I really do.

Covert Affairs Actor Starred in a Chuck-like Precursor

 http://www.flickr.com/photos/greginhollywood/4847385070/sizes/l/in/photostream/

As much as I adore watching Covert Affairs (the new USA network spy drama I just blogged about), it definitely has made me want to see Christopher Gorham in some sort of role where he is not having to fake being blind.

So after a bit of internet research (okay… IMDB profile stalking), I discovered that Gorham was the star of his own spy drama back in the day. The show was called Jake 2.0, and it ran for one season before getting cancelled on UPN back in 2004.

Jake 2.0 is actually really similar to NBC’s 2007 spy dramaedy Chuck … in http://www.flickr.com/photos/heathbar/2802503718/the sense that a nerdy, awkward computer guy accidentally comes into contact with fancy technology and suddenly becomes a government superspy. Yeah. Very similar. Read the rest of this entry »
