A Nikita review, but with very little actual plot recap.

Oh. Em. Gee.

OMG. OMG. OMG. Brendan Fehr is going to be on this episode of Nikita. I just saw his name flash on the opening credits. OMG. Yay!

I am in love with Brendan Fehr. (You may or remember this from previous posts). Or, the more likely scenerio is that you have no idea who Brendan Fehr is.

Um, well basically he played a hot alien boy on a now decade-old cheesy teen melodrama that I happen to adore.

I loved him as Michael in Roswell, and I still get ridiculously excited whenever he guest stars on anything on TV these days.

This is going to be like the best episode of Nikita ever.

A bit of TV nostalgia: Eastwick

Did you ever watch Eastwick? It was this one show about witches that aired on ABC back in 2009 … and then got cancelled after only 13 episodes.

I did watch it, but watched with very marginal interest. Read the rest of this entry »

Fast cars, product placement, & one very unfortunate luau

Tonight on Hawaii Five-0, we opened with gorgeous shots of a traditional Hawaii luau … pretty, colorful, and with a nice little pig roasting in a fire pit.

Then we find out that in the middle of the night, someone dug up the pig, replaced it with the body of a murdered cop, and stuck the cop’s badge in his mouth like an apple.

Hmm. I guess that’s one way to make a statement. (But, moving on…) Read the rest of this entry »

Hawaii Five-0: Shirtless, Cuteness, & Fast Cars

A Five-0 TV review in 60 seconds or less:

This week on Hawaii Five-0, McGarrett needs to get on a ship to rescue some hostages. So naturally, he just takes off his shirt and swims over to the ship.

(But not before he does an entire scene of dialogue completely shirtless.) I’d act like seeing a randomly shirtless McGarrett on this show surprises me, but it really doesn’t anymore. Read the rest of this entry »

Nikita review: I’ve got a pickle, hey hey hey hey.

I was watching the first five minutes of Nikita today with only minor interest.

As you may or may not recall, the series revolves around an ex-assassin named Nikita who is trying to take down a rouge black-ops group called Division. Her partner, Alex, is undercover on the inside posing as a Division recruit.

Today in Division training, Alex was practicing close-range combat – basically laser tag, but meant to prepare you for something a lot more dangerous – with two other recruits, Sarah and Robbie. Robbie was your typical tough-looking army recruit type; talks tough, kind of a jerk. I didn’t take much notice.

Then about the time the simulation ended, the guns went away, and the camera settled in more stably on Robbie’s face … I was suddenly hit with the strangest realization.

Wait a minute, I know that face.

Sweetly dimpled chin, ears ever so slightly protruding – this perpetually-frowning army brat tough guy is the same actor who played Alfalfa in The Little Rascals! Read the rest of this entry »

Alex O’Loughlin totally just roundhouse kicked Coach Tanaka from Glee!

Season 1, episode 5 of Hawaii Five-O.

Alex O’Loughlin was shirtless again. Within the first three minutes of the episode. Sound familiar?

Yeah, I’d say this is starting to get old. But it’s not. Read the rest of this entry »

Hawaii Five-0: Episode Four

Considering the astounding level of awesomeness that was last week’s Hawaii Five-O, I decided today to try watching the show on a real TV during its regular airtime. (Not sometime Tuesday or Wednesday evening by way of … but actually bother to turn on the TV and watch it Monday night at 10pm with the rest of the country.)

Because Hawaii Five-O was just that good last week. So I didn’t even want to even wait a few days before watching this week’s episode.

Of course we had all the classic McGarrett/Danno bickering we’ve come to expect: McGarrett’s upset with Danno. Danno’s upset with McGarrett. Repeat.

Also, McGarrett gets roped into playing a game of basketball with a convict at a state prison. And Danno of course has to point out that Steve the former football star is not nearly as athletically gifted when it comes to playing basketball.

“You know, the other guy putting the ball in the hoop is bad,” he tells him.

“Danno, shut up.” Read the rest of this entry »
