I’m complaining about Hannah, but all I really care about is Sweets’ facial hair

Well this is great. Despite all my hopes and rantings otherwise, we learned this episode that Booth’s nonexistent girlfriend, Hannah, most certainly does exist.

You see, apparently being a fearless war reporter in Afghanistan just isn’t fulfilling anymore when there’s no Seeley Booth for you to ravish under a fig tree. So Hannah’s transferring to D.C. to be a reporter on Capitol Hill.

Jerk. I hate her.

She calls him “baby.” They’re all kissy and lovey all the time. “I’m crazy about her,” Booth tells Sweets. “My life is just way better when we’re together … I’m happy.”

It’s gross. Read the rest of this entry »

Bones: Goatees, pregnancy, & a war correspondent I’m determined to hate

In last night’s season opener of Bones, we found Booth and Brennan doing pretty well without each other.

Booth (David Boreanaz) looks all brave and soldiery while saving a little boy’s life in Afghanistan. And Brennan (Emily Deschanel) encounters a band of armed guerillas in the Indonesian jungle, but manages to knock out her would-be attackers with a shovel.

We get it. They are doing fine on their own. Whatever.

But then fate (in the form of an overly zealous prosecutor from the U.S. Attorney’s office) intervenes and brings them back together in  D.C. so that everything can go back to normal with our beloved FBI agent/scientist crimefighting duo – and their entire trusty team.

Bones Finale Aftermath: Updates & Responses

As I was seething with anger at my beloved Bones‘ horrendous and absolutely terrible season finale that made me want to throw something against the wall, I decided to go online and see if any of my favorite TV spoiler sites had something to say about this epic monstrosity.

Here’s what Korbi Ghosh of Zap2it’s Korbi TV had to say:

“Okay, first of all, breathe. Everything will be fine.

Yes, that did just happen.

Booth is taking a year off to go train snipers. Brennan is going to Indonesia for a dig and she’s taking Daisy with her.

But the important thing to remember is that creator Hart Hanson has promised that the series will not have Booth and Brennan apart next year.

Korbi goes on to explain that season 6 if Bones will pick up exactly a year after the finale is set. This means we as the audience do not have to deal with an entire season of Booth and Bones separated (because I think my heart really would break into a billion pieces if that happened). However, by the time we see them again, the two will have been away from eachother for an entire year.

Booth could have been hurt in Afghanistan. Mortally wounded! Brennan could have been poisened in the Indonesian jungle. Or worse – one of them could have ended up falling in love … with someone other than each other. This is simply not acceptable! I refuse to allow it.

I should write them a letter of protest.

Dear Bones writers,

With all due respect, I hate your finale. I hate your new creative direction. You are ruining Bones and Booth’s relationship and I will never forgive you.

I’m VERY Angry at Bones’ Writers

Season finale of Bones = sad face. 😦

Season 5, Episode 22. “The Beginning in the End.”

They are not going to be partners anymore! Bones and Brennan are not going to be partners anymore.

She’s going to the Moluku Islands in Indonesia to head up a research team on one of the greatest anthropological finds of the century. He’s going back into the army to serve in Afghanistan and use his training to help save lives.

Yes, they work great together. He’s a good FBI agent and she’s a good FBI consultant. But he’s better and can do more good as a soldier. And she’s better and can do more good as a traditional anthropologist.

So they are not going to be partners anymore. Is it logical? Yes. Is it acceptable? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

Yes. It’s only for a year. But a year is forever. I refuse to accept this. Refuse.  Read the rest of this entry »

What I’m Watching: Bones

Overview: She’s a brilliant forensic anthropologist (expert on human skeletons) at D.C.’s Jeffersonian Institute who thrives of logic and reason and frowns on anything that can’t be empirically proven. He’s a seasoned FBI agent who wears a “Cocky” belt buckle and always follows his gut instincts. She does the science; he does the detective work. Together they solve FBI cases.

Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) don’t always get along, but it’s their lively bickering and obvious chemistry that makes this show interesting.

Recent highlights: Bones recently had it’s 100th episode, which included a flashback to the first time Booth and Brennan worked together. The episode was both satisfyling and then disappointing for fans who want to see Booth and Brennan become an official couple.

For me, though, the real reason to watch was the return of Zach Addy (Eric Millegan), Brennan’s former graduate student assistant who was written off the show after season 3, when it was revealed that he was the apprentice of a serial killer who liked to cook and eat the flesh of his victims. As much as I adore this show, Zach’s departure was one of the stupidest and out-of-nowhere plot decisions I have ever seen in a TV show, and I have not totally forgiven the writers for it.

Why I watch: Two words: David Boreanaz. He played brooding vampire-with-a-soul Angel in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003), then got his own spin-off vampire detective series Angel (1999-2004). Boreanaz played the good hearted, yet socially-ostracized vampire character before anyone ever uttered the words “Edward Cullen.” And he did it better. Plus, the Bones character of Agent Booth has more personality than Angel ever did, which makes him much more fun to watch.

Selected episodes are posted on, which is where I go to watch most of my TV.
